Fixtures and valves
Kohler, Delta, Moen, American Standard, Grohe and Hansgrohe are among the best-known names in showers, valves and showerheads, along with Brizo, Pfister, Speakman and Waterpik. They differ in design, valve systems, finishes and where they are sold.
Each has strengths. Some focus on design, some on value and some on commercial durability.
The right choice is the one that fits your layout, your pressure and your style.
Check the manufacturer's site for specifications, finishes and compatibility. Details like valve series and drain position are easy to confirm before you buy.
Bases, tubs and surrounds
Swanstone, MAAX, Aquatic, Sterling, Jacuzzi and Mansfield make bases, tubs, surrounds and walk-in baths in acrylic, solid surface and other materials. They are often used in replacements, rentals and accessible baths.
Material, size and drain position affect fit and cost.
We measure before you order.
When comparing bases and tubs, check the drain location, the alcove size and the path into the bathroom. A product that does not fit the room will cost time and money.
Waterproofing and setting materials
Schluter-Systems, LATICRETE, Custom Building Products, MAPEI, wedi and Noble Company make membranes, mortars, boards and drains. HardieBacker and Durock are cement backer boards.
These materials are hidden behind the tile, and they decide how long a shower lasts.
Ask your installer which system they use and how it is installed.
Ask your installer which waterproofing system they prefer and why. A clear reason, based on experience with your shower type, is a good sign.
Tile
Daltile, MSI, Florida Tile, Emser, Bedrosians and Arizona Tile offer porcelain, ceramic, stone, glass and slab products through showrooms and dealers. Quality varies by line, so check ratings for wet areas and floors.
Samples help you judge color and finish.
Plan quantities with a waste allowance.
Request a physical sample of any tile you are considering, and check its slip rating if it will be on a floor. Samples tell more than photos.
Glass doors and care products
DreamLine, Basco and Coastal are known for shower doors and enclosures. STONETECH makes stone sealers and cleaners, and DAP and Sashco make caulks and sealants.
Fit and installation matter as much as the brand.
Use care products suited to your materials.
Look at the hinge and seal hardware on a door sample. Quality hardware makes a door feel solid for years.
